Take off from our Bike Hire Hub in Confidence! In the event of a breakdown or mechanical, our Greenway assistance van will be with you to repair or replace your bike within the hour!

This service is free of charge for our Westport bike hire customers and covers the 40Km Great Western Greenway route.

Great Western Greenway

The 42km Great Western Greenway is the longest off-road cycling trail in Ireland. The World Class Greenway is a traffic free trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway line which closed in 1937. Along the route cyclists can view the stunning sites of West Mayo and Clew Bay. The trail starts in Westport and passes through Newport, Mulranny and Achill. Some customers will ride the full Greenway and other customers choose to use our bus service to shorten the journey. There are no rules only great views and fun times!

Other Routes

Westport has many cycling routes and places to see!

Just ask our Westport Bike Hire Team to guide you through some of our favourite destinations and routes. These include a coffee ride through the grounds of Westport House and later a visit to the boats at Westport Quay. The Quay has lots of great cafes and restaurants and makes for an ideal short cycling experience.

For those adventurers among you why not cycle out to the foot of Croagh Patrick, park up your bike and hike to the top of the world-famous mountain. The views are stunning and on a clear day you can view the 365 islands below dotted around Clew Bay.

For those who want a bigger adventure, cycle the Wild Atlantic Way!
