Looking for something a little more challenging
This Sheeffrey Pass route takes you on an unforgettable ride with some fantastic views along a mix of quiet country roads and a little bit of main road action.
You will take off from Westport Bike Shop and hit for the main N59 Leenane Road with some nice rolling roads. You will switch off this road and turn right onto the L1824 at the Liscarney Post Office Crossroads. This road takes you onto the infamous Sheeffrey Pass where your main challenge begins.
But don’t worry, the challenge brings with it some of the most stunning views you are likely to see in Mayo.
Once you have conquered the Sheffrey Pass you have a lovely downhill decent into Doo Lough Valley. If you are lucky you may have the Delphi Food Truck parked close by for a little coffee stop!
From here you will head back for the N59 Leenane Road with some lovely scenery along the way including the beautiful Aasleagh Falls as one of the main attractions.
Once you get to the main road its a left turn back to Westport before turning right onto some quieter country roads for a nice spin back into town.
A challenging route this may be, but it’s one you will not regret taking!
