Westport Sea 2 Summit is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of the human spirit, a test of endurance, and a thrilling challenge that combines road running, cycling, and a mountain hike. Participants can choose between the Spirit or Supreme courses, each offering a different level of intensity and adventure.

The Spirit course caters to those looking for a challenge, it is designed to cater to both seasoned athletes and beginners, offering a challenge that is as rewarding as it is demanding. It takes anywhere from 2hours and up and takes in a shorter route than the Supreme Course.

The Supreme, on the other hand, is for those seeking an even greater challenge, including a gruelling hike up and down Croagh Patrick and a demanding bike climb with steep ramps at the Maum, which will test the limits of all who dare to take it on. It hits up to 25% gradients at times so it’s not for the faint hearted!

The event is meticulously organised by the Westport Hotel Group, ensuring a safe and memorable experience for all. It takes off from the Castlecourt Hotel which is located within the town itself and is marshalled throughtout for added safety.

How do I participate?

To participate in the Westport Sea 2 Summit, you’ll need to register for the event.

Registration details are available on the official Westport Sea 2 Summit website, where you can choose between the Spirit or Supreme courses depending on your level of experience and fitness.

It’s important to register early, as the event can fill up quickly. On the day before the event, you must attend the registration at the designated location to collect your race pack and any additional information required for the race day.

Make sure to check the specific requirements and rules for the event, such as the mandatory gear list and the cut-off times for each section of the race.

What Kit do I need?

For the adventure race, participants are required to bring a mandatory kit to ensure safety and preparedness for the various challenges of the event.

This kit includes a basic first aid kit, which should contain at least one dressing pad for heavy bleeding, a bandage, and plasters.

Additionally, a survival bag or foil blanket is essential for protection against the elements, alongside a whistle for signaling in case of an emergency. Energy food and drink are also a must to maintain your stamina throughout the race.

For the cycling section, a bicycle helmet is compulsory for all participants. It’s crucial to have these items with you to not only comply with the race regulations but also to be well-equipped for the physical demands of the race.
